Description

An early 19th century linen press of bow front outline.oval inlaid flame veneered panels with coromandel cross-banding and boxwood stringing. The base has graduated oak lined drawers with matched flame veneers and solid mahogany wooden knobs, vase shaped bone escutcheons. The bottom scalloped edge frieze again has matching coromandel cross-banding and boxwood stringing, simple splayed bracket feet complete the base. A cornice with swept moulding and matching detail sits above the panelled doors. The interior is fitted with bow front slides, mahogany and boxwood strung fronts. The whole is a lovely rich colour and patina and is in original condition.
