Antique Early Georgian Oak Pegged Wardrobe Tack Cupboard C1720 Wdb320/13.4

Description

Antique early georgian oak pegged tack cupboard and dating form aorund 1720. It has a cornice top with oak frieze above two panelled foors and brass handle. Internally there is a row of hand carved oak pegs to the top (see photo) and half way down are a row of brass hooks which are slightly later. It would be easy to remove these and to install a hanging rail if desired. It is moulded to the base and has two drawers both of which are elm lined with brass slightly later brass handles. It has panelled sides and original rough hewn panelled back. It has original peg joints. It stands on original stile feet and the top lifts off the base for ease of transporting.

In very good condition with a lovely deep conker brown colour to the oak with original patination. A stunning piece of furniture that oozes the charm and character of the early georgian period.

Measures: 74" high X 21" deep X 18" internal depth X 67" wide
