Pair of Japanese Imari vases, c. 1890, Meiji Period. Both vases painted in the typical Imari palette, with panels of flowering plants, within a fenced garden, between panels of exotic birds in trees. The borders with scrolling foliage heightened with gilding, upon a red ground.

Height - 24.2 cm, 9 1/2”.

Diameter - 15.2 cm, 6”.

Condition - Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
