Pair of Large Japanese Cloisonne Vases, Meiji Period.

Description

Large and highly decorative pair of Japanese cloisonne vases, c. 1890. Meiji Period. Both vases worked in silver wire, and decorated with butterflies flying amongst a profusion of flowering plants, upon a turquoise ground. The necks with a continuous band of scrolls, and flower heads, beneath a band of stylised flower heads.

Height - 32.5 cm, 12 3/4”.

Diameter - 23 cm, 9 1/8”.

Condition - No damage. No restoration.
