Large and highly decorative pair of Japanese cloisonne vases, c. 1890. Meiji Period. Both vases worked in silver wire, and decorated with butterflies flying amongst a profusion of flowering plants, upon a turquoise ground. The necks with a continuous band of scrolls, and flower heads, beneath a band of stylised flower heads.
Height - 32.5 cm, 12 3/4.
Diameter - 23 cm, 9 1/8.
Condition - No damage. No restoration.
