A Large Victorian Doulton Lambeth Hand Painted Vase.

This fine quality elegant and decorative Doulton Lambeth Vase has the Slaters Patent mark and dates to circa 1895. The neck and shoulders have been decorated in a complicated procedure where the pottery is incised with a scale like pattern which has then been hand painted with enameled flowers and finished with a heavy smooth glaze. The lower body is not glazed but it has a similar incised pattern over which there is beautifully hand painted exotic flowers in turquoise and white with their edges highlighted in gold.
