The left door features its original brass locking latches. The right-hand door retains its original working brass lever lock (with working key), original brass door closure strip and the original hinges (on both doors). The doors open to reveal a bank of four oak lined linen trays. Below, the base section comprises four drawers in a two-over-two design. The drawers are constructed with fine hand dovetail joints and cock-beaded fronts; and the drawer linings and bottoms are constructed from solid oak. The drawer fronts retain their original turned mahogany knobs and brass lever locks. The press is raised on its original turned feet (which is rare to see, as these are usually replaced with changing fashions or get damaged over time). The linen press also features the original backboards. The linen press dismantles into three sections, allowing easy access up the staircase into the bedroom.

Condition Report:
This item is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame (see photos), but nothing significant considering its age. There are no splits to the flame mahogany doors (which is common in linen presses). The doors lock using the original brass working lever lock (with working key) and original brass drawer strip. The sliding trays to the top section of the press are completely original. The drawers feature cock beaded fronts, hand dovetail construction and retain their original turned mahogany handles and working locks. The press is raised on its original turned feet (which is rare to see, as these are usually replaced with changing fashions or get damaged over time). The linen press also features the original backboards.
