Large Japanese Satsuma Vase by Yabu Meizan

Description

A really nice satsuma vase by Yabu Meizan painted with a continuous lake landscape , probably Lake Biwa . The decoration is typical of the better pieces by Yabu Meizan who is the leading artist of the late Meiji period and has attained all the highest prices at auction for satsuma .

Signed on a Yabu Meizan gilt seal.

The condition is excellent , no damage , rubbing or restoration , the gilding is bright and perfect .

Purchased from a most important USA collection.
