Description

This is a super pair of Japanese Kutani onion shaped vases in perfect condition dating from the Meiji period, circa 1890.

The vases are decorated to the neck with typical landscape and the bodies with roundels with gilt and red Tsuba all above fan shaped panels of fanciful birds against a red and gilt ground. The vases are in perfect order with no damage or restoration and are signed to the base Kutani Tsukuru.

These are a good size being 30.5 cms in height.
