Description:

This is a good quality and decorative antique French 3rd Republic walnut bedside cabinet, circa 1890, most likely originating from the Breton region, of northern France in excellent condition. The bedside cabinet features a simple top with rounded corners. Below, the bedside boasts a single hand dovetailed drawer, which retains its original turned walnut knob. Further below is a cabinet door, which displays a recessed panel, finished with a turned walnut bullseye moulding, and opens to reveal a two-tier internal compartment. The cabinet door features a working lock, with a working key and walnut key escutcheon. The bedside stands on its original bracket feet. The bedside is well-made, solid in joint and ready to use.

Condition Report:

This bedside cabinet is in excellent condition, having been polished in our workshop. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no cup marks to the top of the bedside. The drawer is hand dovetailed, retains its original turned walnut knob, runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. The cupboard door features a working lock, with working key and original walnut key escutcheon. There is no damage to the bracket feet. The bedside is solid in joint and ready to use.
