This is a very attractive oak and leather cupboard in the 17th century style. Designed as a drinks cabinet but could be used for any purpose. The top section is clad in leather, with a liberal use of brass studs to decorate and the doors having splendid hinges and escutcheons. A nicely carved central moulding gives way to a single drawer, above barley twist legs and stretchers, all set with a superb carved upper stretcher. There are some old marks on the leather that have mellowed in to look almost better than if it was too new looking. A great character piece will look fantastic in the right setting.
