Description:
Here is an attractive pair of fine quality English Victorian mahogany bedside cabinets, circa 1880, with later adapted legs, in excellent condition. The bedsides boast mahogany moulded tops with up stands to the rear. Below is a single door cabinet with a fielded panel door. The door retains the original working lock on each bedside, with a working key. The cabinet door opens to reveal three open-fronted drawers. The drawers are mahogany lined and feature dovetail joints. The bedsides are raised on later finely turned spindle legs, which are united towards the base by a cross stretcher, with a decorative finial at the centre.
Condition Report:
This pair of adapted bedsides are in excellent condition. The cabinets have been adapted from a Victorian dressing table. The bedsides incorporate later legs. They have been French polished in our workshops. There are no marks, scratches or stains to the tops of the bedsides. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and inside drawer bottoms but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawers are free running and close flush to the frame. There are no breaks to the legs. These bedsides are solid in joint; they do not wobble and are ready to use.
