One young lad, at the base of the tree, is supporting the Egg Collector on his shoulders. The young lady beneath is holding out her pinafore ready to catch the 'spoils'. A bright yellow bird is perched on a nearby branch poised to attack and protect its nest. Nineteenth century rural drama at its best.

There is some paint loss and a small underglaze chip to the underside of the bird's tail. This has occured during the making.
There are no cracks or restoration.
Height: 11.75 inches (30 cm).
