Description

This is a good large Meiji period Satuma vase on stand with a delightful colour palette to the hand painted detail. The vase is decorated on a sky blue ground with birds and flowers and is attractively hand gilded. The vase is in perfect order with no damage or restoration, only some slight rubbing to the antique gilding. The base has had a few small repairs and some minor chipping to the inner central hole but this is always hidden beneath the vase so is not noticeable. The piece has lovely antique colours and much impact being a substantial 68 cms tall on the stand and in 25 cms in diameter. (The vase alone is 50 cms tall by 25 cms diameter.)

A really charming 19th century piece dating from around 1870.
