Description

A superb early 18th Century japanned and lacquered chinoiserie corner cupboard, beautifully decorated with parrots, traditional oriental landscapes and mounted huntsmen. The high quality gilt painting stands proud of the black background, adding to the dramatic impact. The beautiful pierced brass butterfly hinges are original and as are the interior door catches. The working lock, is an antique replacement. The backboards of this antique corner cupboard are original and showing signs of wear and age, but are fitted with new plates to aid fixing to a wall. There is some wear to the lacquered surface as you would expect in a piece of furniture over 300 years old, the overall effect is of a stunning and exquisitely decorated Georgian corner cupboard that would add impact to any interior.
