Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The interior has five shaped oak lined sliding linen trays. The lower section has a moulded edge above three oak lined bow fronted drawers with swan neck handles. The press stands on splayed bracket feet, splits into two for ease of removals, has the usual character, restorations and is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
