This sits on the period oak base, which has four oak lined and dovetailed drawers, which too, have mahogany cross banding around the edge. All the drawers have their original brass swan neck handles with shaped back plates and their original oak leaf escuteons. The feet are shaped prominent oak brackets. The sides are all pannelled as are the doors. A lovely feature of this antique oak housekeepers cupboard is the quarter reeded columns on each side. This antique cupboard is local to the area being made in Lancashire during the 18th century. The colour and condition is excellent, with no splits, cracks or blemishes. The antique cupboard comes in two pieces. A superb, useful antique piece of furniture.
