As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this wonderful quality Satsuma vase by the highly regarded Matsumoto Hozan , the four sided tapered vase is decorated to opposing sides with Japanese characters in traditional village life settings, with Mount Fuji in the background and children paddling in streams in the foreground , the third panel depicts butterflies in flight amidst trailing Wisteria and the fourth panel shows a flock of birds amongst Bamboo and other native flora , each panel is framed with opposing geometric gilt borders , the top shoulders are superbly executed with a myriad of gilded flowers inside the conforming gilt borders , the base signed in a red and gilt seal aside a gold mon , a super quality vase for your Japanese Satsuma collection.

The condition of the vase is perfect with only minor expected gilt rubbing to the sharper edges.
