Decorative Pair of Japanese Imperial Satsuma Vases

Description

As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely pair of satsuma vases decorated in the Imperial pallette , the vases are unusually decorated with a multitude of coloured flowers using a raised enamel type of technique , the top borders are traditionally decorated in blue and gilt with imperial mons , the underside of the vases signed in a red four character alongside a blue enamel mon usually associated with " Imperial Satsuma ".

A great pair of decorative vases from the Meiji period .

The condition is good with the enamels still very fresh in most areas.
