Japanese Damascened Iron Komai Style Vase

19th century
Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Japanese iron vase , the vase is damascened in fine detail using an onlaid silver and gold technique more commonly known as Komai ware, the gilt lined cartouches house traditional village and tranquil scenes while the highly decorative shoulders are onlaid in a grape and vine pattern , the rim finished in greek key style decoration , the little vase is signed in a square seal to the rear , a high quality piece of Japanese iron ware from the Meiji period.

The condition is lovely !!
