Antique English Cut Crystal Water / Lemonade Jug C.1900

Description

A splendid top quality Lemonade or water jug or pitcher, of course perfectly good for anything to be served nice and chilled.

The crystal is beautifully hand-cut having a plain round collar, hinged lid and spout and contains the original lidded tube to the inside which would be filled with crushed ice to the chill the contents; as practical as beautiful.

The collar is marked for the Birmingham silversmith, JOHNSON, DURBAN & CO LTD and date to the late nineteenth century or very early 1900's. A grand and impressive piece with a base diameter measuring 6 1/2", spanning 7 3/4" from spout to handle and stands 10 1/2" max.
