Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1750s.
It has a moulded top with a beautiful walnut crossbanded edge above two cupboard doors with brass key escutcheon and key with working lock, central raised fielded panels again with spectacular crossbanding and superb figuring. The interior has four oak lined sliding linen trays ideal for storage. The lower edge is moulded and the piece as a whole stands on re instated shaped bracket feet. The mahogany has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
