Description

This very striking LARGE SPONGE-DECORATED ANTIQUE STONEWARE VASE stands 22.5 inches (57 cm) high.

Dating from around 1880, it bears the impressed mark LIPSCOMBE & Co PATENTEES LONDON to the inside of the neck (please see photograph two just above the red arrow).

The VASE is very heavy, as you would expect. It would make an impressive lamp and already has the benefit of a hole to the centre of the base created when originally made.

The VASE is in good condition.
