The top section has two lovely raised Arcadian shaped door panels with two small brass knobs and brass escutcheons. The doors have feature the original working lock and a key. Inside, it features a shelf along. Below, the cupboard door is a rare “hat” drawer. Such drawers were designed to be tall so that hats could safely be stored inside without fear of the hats being squashed. Further below, is a bank of three working drawers. All drawers are pine lined and hand dovetailed; this is typical of furniture from this period and region. The cupboard frame is constructed using a peg construction method. The back of the cupboard boasts its rough sawn hewn boards with original hand made nails. The cupboard features the original oak top, oak backboards and lovely figured oak sides constructed with very good quality wide planks. The cupboard stands Georgian bracket feet. The cupboard boasts a stunning original colour and surface patination, which can only be achieved through age and years of care and wax polishing. The cupboard dismantles into two sections for easy transportation.
