Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It is crowned with a moulded cornice above a deep mahogany frieze below which sits a central cupboard door with key and working lock. The central panel of the door has beautiful mahogany cross banding and a detailed shell inlay decorative feature whilst the interior of the antique cupboard has two fixed shelves. At the base there is a central working drawer flanked by two faux drawers, all with original brass handles. It is a warm medium oak with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
