Victorian Mellow Mahogany Antique Chiffonier Cupboard

This delightful early Victorian, circa 1840, antique chiffonier cupboard is made from a wonderful mellow shade of mahogany. It has beautifully turned upright supports above which sits a useful shelf. The top of the cupboard is delightfully figured and has rounded corners. The cupboard doors are also beautifully figured and have a key with working lock along with a brass clash mould. Once opened they reveal an interior containing two adjustable shelves. The cupboard stands on a plain plinth, still retains its original back boards and is has an overall simple but classic design. The mahogany has aged to a lovely warm mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
