Painted Victorian Antique Country Press

Dating from around 1890 in the Victorian period, this antique country press has a rustic painted finish. The moulded cornice sits above two glazed doors with key and working lock and are flanked by decorative carved corbels. When opened the doors reveal two shelves to the interior. The lower section has two over two graduating drawers with moulded edges and turned handles. The piece stands on turned bun feet and has a later painted finish which has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
