Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The beautifully figured top sits above four small cock beaded drawers with brass swan neck handles. Below these can be found two cupboard doors with moulded edges, once opened they reveal a very useful storage space. The cupboard stands on shaped bracket feet with beaded detailing to the side panels. This delightful cupboard looks to have been adapted during the Edwardian period making it a very practical and unique size, ideal as a hall cabinet or even to place a TV on in a living space. It has aged to a rich dark shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
