Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
A moulded cornice sits above two beautifully figured cupboard doors which have a key with working lock along with moulded edges. The interior has two oak lined sliding linen trays above a removable shelf and two small drawers with brass swan neck handles, quite an unusual design for the period! The lower section has two oak lined drawers with cock beading and replacement brass handles. It stands on shaped bracket feet and splits into two for ease of removal. It has aged to a rich medium dark shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
