Description

Georgian Antique Oak Astragal Glazed Cupboard.

This is a superb, unusually designed antique oak cupboard, made in the style of a Welsh bread and cheese cupboard, but this tall oak cupboard has decorative astragal glazed doors to the top section.

Behind the astragal glazed doors is a shelved storage area with the most elborate and shapely fixed display shelves.

All the wonderfully wavy glass in the doors are period.

This antique oak cupboard dates from around 1790 and is originally from North Wales.

The cupboard is in very original condition and features ivory key hole escuteons,bracket feet, panelled sides and two lines of ebony inlay down the side stiles.

A lovely example of a Georgian Welsh antique oak cupboard, now at Miles Griffiths Antiques in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
