Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It has a moulded cornice above two beautifully figured doors with brass 'H' hinges, decorative brass key escutcheons and key with working lock. The interior has three bow fronted oak shelves along with the original oak back boards. It has the usual charm and character marks from age and use adding to its authenticity and it has aged to a rich dark Cuban mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
