We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the mid-18th century through Thomas Chippendales design publications, Chinese Chippendale style integrates Asian-inspired motifs, such as ornate lattice or fretwork, faux-bamboo elements, and gilded finishes, into traditional European furniture forms.

These pieces were constructed from carved hardwoods such as beech or mahogany, coated with gesso and gold leaf gilding, and upholstered in woven silk, damask, or velvet textiles.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-carved joinery, natural wear to the gilded surface exposing underlying red or yellow clay bole, and signs of historical hand-stitched upholstery foundation materials like horsehair.

Position the stool at the foot of a bed, beneath a console table, or beside an armchair to add structured architectural detail and metallic contrast within a room scheme.

Dust gilded woodwork gently with a soft, dry brush or feather duster without using liquid cleaners, and clean fabric surfaces with a low-suction upholstery vacuum attachment.
