Why Sellingantiques dated this piece to THE 1910s:
Solid plank sub-top under the marble: construction before manufactured boards.
Quartered veneers on the curved door: cabinet making before modern production methods.
Soft rubbing on the gilded feet: gradual wear from cleaning over decades.
Dark oxidisation settled into the cast metal swags: natural exposure to air.

This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

  • Period1900 - 1920

This demi lune side cabinet dates from the 1910 period and measures 98.5 cm high, 114 cm wide, and 50 cm deep. The piece stands on turned feet and features a curved marble top in mottled reddish-brown tones, complemented by polished timber veneer bodywork with geometric parquetry patterns. Gilt bronze mounts adorn the structure, including classical relief plaques along the frieze, delicate trailing floral swags suspended across the doors, and decorative bead mouldings tracing the curved edges. Keyhole escutcheons and small drop handles punctuate the cabinet doors. Position this side cabinet in a hallway, dining room, or living space to provide surface display and concealed storage. The curved profile allows it to sit flush against a wall in more compact areas while offering generous proportions for lamps, ceramics, or decorative objects. The combination of veined stone, warm wood tones, and intricate metalwork suits both traditional and eclectic interiors.
