Description

A decorative pair of early 20th century brass wall sconces, circa 1930, each fitted with three scrolling candle-style electric light branches.

The ornate backplates feature classical foliate decoration, incorporating scrolling acanthus leaves, floral motifs and pendant grape clusters. Each sconce has three elegantly curved arms with fluted candle supports and cream candle sleeves, giving the appearance of traditional candlelit wall lights.

The brass has developed a warm, mellow patina, highlighting the decorative detail and giving the pair an attractive period character.

A charming and highly decorative pair of wall lights, ideal for either side of a fireplace, mirror or doorway, or for adding traditional character to a hallway or sitting room. Circa 1930
