Rings from the 1940s often feature central coloured gemstones, such as Ceylon sapphires, set in platinum or white precious metals. This period favoured clean geometric settings, claw prongs, and subtle accent diamonds along the shoulders.

Mid-twentieth-century fine rings typically incorporate natural unheated sapphires, round diamonds, and mounts crafted from high-purity platinum, white gold, or yellow gold.

Authenticity is determined through hallmark analysis, examination of period facet patterns, era-specific claw settings, and independent gemmological certification confirming origin and absence of heat treatment.

Solitaire sapphire rings pair naturally with slim precious metal wedding bands or graphic stacked rings. Their deep blue hue complements both minimalist daily attire and formal wear.

Clean the ring using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from beneath the setting. Avoid exposure to harsh household chemicals and schedule periodic checks of the claw settings with a professional jeweller.
