A torpedo scent bottle is a small 19th-century container characterised by an elongated, streamlined body tapering at both ends, designed for pocket transport or attachment to a chatelaine.

Victorian scent bottles were typically constructed from hand-blown clear or coloured glass paired with silver, silver plate, or gold mounts and screw caps.

Authentic pieces frequently display hand-moulded glass bodies, silver hallmarks denoting assay marks and dates, and subtle imperfections indicative of 19th-century manufacturing methods.

Small antique scent bottles are often arranged on dressing tables, placed within glass display cases, or grouped with vanity accessories on tray displays.

Glass sections should be wiped clean with a dry or lightly dampened soft cloth, while silver mounts require gentle polishing using a specialized silver cloth to avoid liquid exposure to internal stoppers.
