FAQs

Edwardian brass metalwork from the early 20th century incorporates classical turnings, knopped stems, and geometric bases, reflecting a movement towards refined decorative forms.

These lighting items were cast using solid brass, featuring turned vertical sections and weighted octagonal or square bases to ensure stability.

Authentic examples display hand-finished turned details, faint join seams from historic casting processes, and natural oxidisation within hollow base sections.

Positioning a symmetrical pair on a sideboard or console table creates balanced proportions while introducing warm metallic tones to modern interior settings.

Dust the metal surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth, and apply a dedicated metal polish sparingly if maintaining a reflective finish is preferred.
