The warm cream blush ground is hand decorated with delicate floral sprays in shades of pink, white, yellow and green, arranged amongst finely painted foliage. Around the upper body is a striking deep cobalt-blue ornamental border enriched with gilt scrollwork, beneath a raised pearl-like beaded band.

Further gilt decoration highlights the rims, necks and moulded foot borders, creating an attractive contrast against the soft ivory and blush ground.
The undersides bear the original early W&R crowned Carlton Ware backstamps for Wiltshaw & Robinson of Stoke-on-Trent, together with Registered Design No. 488460 and painted pattern numbers. The mark and registration number are consistent with early Carlton Ware production from the Edwardian period.
