This set of four Georgian Scottish silver teaspoons dates from circa 1820 and originates from the provincial maker Robert Keay of Perth. Formed in sterling silver with a bright reflective finish, the items exhibit a classic Georgian silver colour throughout. Each teaspoon displays an oval bowl, a tapered handle, and engraved terminal monograms positioned at the ends. The metal shows subtle signs of handling and period wear across the polished surfaces. Measuring 14 cm in length, the utensils are perfectly suited for display on a sideboard top or for use during afternoon tea service within an English country house interior setting.

Scottish provincial silver refers to silverware crafted outside the major assay offices of Edinburgh and Glasgow, produced by local silversmiths in towns such as Perth, Aberdeen, and Dundee from the 15th through the 19th centuries.

Georgian tea spoons were typically forged from high-purity sterling silver, formed by hand-hammering rolled silver sheets and often finished with hand-engraved monograms or crests on the handle terminals.

Authentic pieces are identified by specific regional town marks and makers marks rather than official capital assay office stamps, alongside characteristic hand-forged construction details and age-appropriate surface wear.

These pieces can be incorporated into formal table settings, displayed inside glass-fronted dining room cabinets, or mounted within framed shadow boxes to highlight historic metalwork.

Silver flatware should be washed by hand in warm water with mild soap, dried thoroughly with a soft cloth, polished sparingly with specialized silver cream, and stored in anti-tarnish fabric sleeves.
