A late Victorian Mahogany open bookcase dating from around 1890. This original piece has a moulded edge to the top with three fully adjustable shelves and three slots to the bottom. It has moulded edges to the front and is moulded around the bottom and stands on bracket feet.

This late Victorian mahogany open bookcase dates from around 1890 and is executed in a warm brown timber with a deep colour and patination. The upright rectangular piece has a projecting top cornice with a moulded edge, three fully adjustable horizontal shelves, and a compartmentalised lower shelf divided into slots. Mouldings run down the front vertical edges and around the lower frieze, while the base is raised on bracket feet. Measuring 114 cm high by 111.5 cm wide and 33 cm deep, the unit fits comfortably against a wall in a traditional study, home office, or living room to store books, display papers, or organise reference materials in a gentleman's library setting.
