Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco silver flatware from the 1920s to 1940s is characterized by clean geometric lines, streamlined handles, stepped terminals, and minimal surface decoration compared to earlier Victorian or Edwardian designs.

British sterling silver consists of 92.5% pure silver alloyed with 7.5% copper for structural durability, and sets were frequently presented in fabric-lined wooden or leatherette cases.

Authentic British sterling silver features a complete set of hallmarks stamped on each piece, including the lion passant mark for silver purity, a makers mark, an assay office symbol, and a specific date letter.

Cased silver spoon sets can be displayed open on a sideboard or bar cart as a decorative accent, or integrated into modern dining table settings for coffee and dessert service.

Silver spoons should be washed gently in warm soapy water, thoroughly dried, and polished periodically with a soft cloth and specialist silver foam to prevent oxidisation, then stored in a dark velvet-lined case.
