Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Champagne coupes, also known as champagne bowls or saucers, originated in 18th-century Europe as a traditional vessel for serving sparkling wine. Popularised in the Victorian era and throughout the 1920s, the broad shallow bowl allowed aromas to disperse quickly before narrow flutes became favoured for bubble retention.

Traditional cut glass stemware was mouth-blown or mould-formed from glass, giving the pieces density and optical clarity. Artisans then hand-engraved or ground geometric cuts and facets into the glass using abrasive rotating wheels before polishing the surface.

Authentic cut glass pieces feature crisp edges along the cut facets rather than the smooth, rounded edges typical of pressed glass. Handcrafted pieces often exhibit a rich resonance when gently tapped and may display minor variations in weight and pattern alignment.

Champagne coupes serve as functional decor on drinks trolleys, sideboards, or open kitchen shelving. Beyond serving sparkling wine and cocktails, these vessels can be styled as individual dessert bowls or used as small botanical display holders.

Hand wash stemware individually in lukewarm water using a mild dish soap, avoiding extreme water temperatures that could cause thermal shock. Dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth to prevent water spots and preserve the glass surface.
