Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Toast racks became prominent in British dining during the late 18th and 19th centuries to hold toasted bread upright, allowing steam to escape so the slices remained crisp. By the Victorian era, they were standard elements of formal breakfast services and were produced in various geometric and wirework forms.

Victorian toast racks were primarily fashioned from sterling silver or silver plate. Craftsmen constructed the frame using drawn wire bent into arches or loop partitions, soldered onto a rectangular base frame supported by cast feet.

Authentic British sterling silver features a complete set of hallmarks stamped into the metal, including a lion passant for silver purity, a town mark indicating the assay office, a date letter, and a makers mark.

Beyond breakfast table service, an antique silver toast rack can be repurposed on an office desk or hallway console table to hold letters, stationery, or business cards.

Clean sterling silver using a soft cloth and a specialized non-abrasive silver polish to remove tarnish. Avoid prolonged contact with acidic foods or harsh chemicals, and store in a dry environment inside anti-tarnish cloth bags.
