Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Page turners were popular desk accessories in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, designed to assist readers in turning the delicate pages of books, journals, or uncut bound volumes without leaving fingerprint oils or dirt on the paper.

Edwardian page turners frequently combined natural materials such as tortoiseshell, mother-of-pearl, or bone blades with hallmarked sterling silver, silver plate, or carved wooden handles.

Authentic Edwardian pieces feature official silver hallmarks indicating the assay office, purity mark, makers mark, and a date letter corresponding to the period between 1901 and 1910.

An antique page turner can be styled flat on an executive desk, displayed inside a glass shadow box, or arranged atop stacked art books on a coffee table or bookshelf.

Dust the item gently with a soft, clean cloth, and polish the silver mount using a silver polishing cloth while keeping liquid cleansers away from the tortoiseshell. Maintain a stable indoor humidity level to prevent organic materials from warping.
