This stunning and well-proportioned pair of white porcelain (Sevres) vases feature ornate gilt bronze mounts. The pair feature curled acanthus leaf handles with a figural mask of a maiden on each side. They rest on circular bases with gilt bronze trim. The body of the vases depict cherub figures in various poses with curled swag detail. This pair would make a fine addition to any room in the home, in a wide range of settings both traditional and contemporary.

Originating in France during the eighteenth century, Sevres-style ormolu-mounted vases feature porcelain bodies combined with cast gilt-bronze mounts. This style reflects Neoclassical design influences, incorporating figural reliefs or painted scenes alongside cast bronze bases, rims, and handles.

These pieces were produced by moulding and firing ceramic porcelain, which was decorated with raised relief figures or enamel glaze. The gilt bronze fittings, known as ormolu, were cast separately, chased by hand to add surface detail, and gilded before being attached to the porcelain structure.
