Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian presentation silver dates from 1901 to 1910 and is characterised by a return to lighter classical forms, fine chasing, fluting, and beaded borders. Items were frequently commissioned for civic, military, or Masonic gifts and presented in fitted velvet- or satin-lined cases.

The main vessel is forged from solid sterling silver (925 purity), marked with standard assay hallmarks. The accompanying fitted presentation box is typically constructed from wood lined with satin and velvet, wrapped in faux leather or leatherette fabric.

Authentic British sterling silver displays a complete set of hallmarks: a lion passant stamp for purity, an assay office symbol (such as a leopard head for London or anchor for Birmingham), a makers mark, and a specific date letter denoting the year 1907.

Cased silver pieces can be displayed open on a sideboard top, desk, or inside a glass-fronted cabinet to showcase both the metalwork and the original lining. The polished finish provides high visual contrast against dark timber or painted surfaces.

Clean silver using a soft cotton cloth and a specialist non-abrasive silver polish to remove oxidisation without damaging surface details. Store the piece inside its fabric-lined box in a low-humidity environment to minimise natural tarnishing.
