This 19th-century late Victorian three-light gasolier exemplifies the Gothic Revival style in solid brass with an aged patina. The construction incorporates a circular frame pierced with alternating quatrefoil and round motifs, supported by arched brass ribs rising to a domed top with decorative scrollwork. Three curved arms project from the ring, terminating in gas keys and gas jets adapted for electricity, accompanied by three hand-blown opalescent glass shades of softly crimped bell form with a delicate iridescent sheen. The brass frame shows age-related tarnish, minor distortion to shape, and one missing lamp holder requiring rewiring before use, while the glass shades include one chip to the bottom. The main body measures 75 cm in width and 75 cm in height excluding the chain, and each individual shade measures 21 cm in width, 18 cm in height, and 9 cm at the aperture. This ceiling light suits interior illumination schemes in period properties.

A Gothic Revival gasolier is a ceiling-mounted lighting fixture originally manufactured to burn illuminating gas, decorated with architectural features derived from medieval European design such as pointed arches, quatrefoils, and pierced strapwork.

These lighting fixtures were predominantly crafted from cast or stamped brass, bronze, and iron, typically fitted with blown or pressed glass shades such as opalescent, etched, or coloured glass.

Authentic period gasoliers feature hollow arm tubing for historical gas flow, original gas tap keys near the burners, evidence of electrical conversion, and natural surface patination rather than modern lacquered finishes.

Suspended above a dining table, entry hall, or study, a Gothic Revival light fixture acts as a focal point that adds historical character to modern or eclectic interior design schemes.

The brass frame should be dusted with a dry, lint-free cloth to preserve its age-acquired patina, while the glass shades can be washed separately in warm, soapy water and thoroughly dried before reattachment.
