Lancaster Antiques has dated this French Brass Chamberstick to the 1920s.

In the UK the character Wee Willy Winkle appears on some items, and this could possible be either Un Latin a spirit or goblin, who was thought to have played harmless tricks if children didn’t go to sleep on time, or Pierrot, famous for the children’s nursery rhyme, Au Clair De La Lune. We can’t be sure, and if someone knows, please advise.

It is a well made, heavy, finely cast item. The candle cup unscrews from the base for easy packing. It measures 15cm across at the widest part, and 10 cm in height, and weighs 480 grams or half a kilo.

There are no signs of damage or repair, and it has been professionally polished to highlight the wildlife details.
Postage and packing for the UK mainland only is included in the price, and for outside areas or delivery abroad please contact us for a delivery quote.
