Antique Silver Pocket Watch Albert Chain, Skewen

Description

Antique silver pocket watch albert chain, Skewen.

The chain measures 32cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The T-bar and the clasp are hallmarked for Birmingham 1895, with a maker’s mark for the Birmingham silversmith William Walter Cashmore.

Each of the links has the lion silver mark.

The chain comes with a silver fob, engraved with the wording, ‘Tabernacle Skewen, Great War, G Evans, 1914-18’. Skewen is a village within the county borough of Neath Port Talbot, in Wales. Tabernacle Chapel is an historical place of worship in Skewen that gave Tabernacle Street its name.
