Large Antique Walnut Leather Top Pedestal Desk

1900 - 1920
Description

A magnificent, large antique walnut leather top pedestal desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1900-1920 period.

It is of superb quality with a gorgeous design, the top has an inverted breakfront shape with wonderful moulding around the edges. It is a great size, with a beautiful inset tooled leather top. There are high quality brass handles, the drawers have fine, hand cut dovetailed joints and cross banded fronts with double inlaid herringbone borders. The back is beautifully finished so this can be used as a free standing item. This sits on nicely shaped bracket feet.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age, with a lovely aged patina. The top lifts off and this breaks down into three pieces for ease of transport.
