Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne style furniture originated in early 18th-century England and is defined by graceful proportions, curved silhouettes, and functional elegance. Key features include cabriole legs, pad feet, and a focus on figured walnut veneers.

These desks are predominantly constructed using timber frames faced with figured walnut or burr walnut veneers. Writing surfaces frequently feature inset gilt-tooled leather, accompanied by cast brass drop handles and escutcheon plates.

Look for distinctive cabriole legs terminating in pad or webbed feet, hand-cut dovetail drawer joinery, and well-matched burr walnut grain patterns. Period construction typically incorporates solid oak or pine secondary timbers for drawer linings.

Position the desk as a focal point in a dedicated home office or library, paired with a contemporary desk chair or a classic leather armchair. Balance the warm timber tones with neutral wall colours and minimalist desk lighting.

Keep the desk away from direct heat sources and intense sunlight to prevent veneer movement and fading. Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish periodically, ensuring leather inset panels are treated with appropriate leather balm.
